Back cover blurb: What's the worst thing your best friend could do to you? Admittedly, it wasn't murder. A moment's carelessness, a tragic accident - and two children are dead. Yours. Living in a small island community, you can't escape the woman who destroyed your life. Each chance encounter is an agonizing reminder of what you've lost - your family, your future, your sanity. How long before revenge becomes irresistible? With no reason to go on living, why shouldn't you turn your darkest thoughts into deeds? So now, what's the worst thing you can do to your best friend?

Little Black Lies is perhaps one of the best books I've read so far this year. It is certainly outstanding in its genre. Set on the Falklands, we are immediately transported to an Island on wonderous beauty by the authors wonderful descrptive prose.

Little Black Lies is told from three main perspectives, those of Cat, Rachel and Callum;

Catrin (Cat) lost her closest family and best friends in a tragic accident three years previously; her two sons to the accidents, and her husband to its aftermath, her best friend forever - as it was Rachel who was responsible for the incident.

Rachel has her own family, but mourns the loss of her friendship with Catrin, and is never quite free from the accusatory words and sly glances from the local community.

Callum isn't native to the Falklands, he is an ex-soldier still traumatised by the horrors of the Falklands war.

When a young boy goes missing on the island, Catrin and Callum are immediately drawn in to the search for the boy, desperate to find him alive, and at least one family some hope. What follows is a complex novel, full of betrayal, guilt, stress, trauma and grief.

A gripping novel that will have you thinking you have it all worked out, until the next twist comes along. Little Black Lies is a 2015 must read.
