Simon Callington is a family man, with a loving wife and three wonderful children. Instinctively when he gets a call from an old friend, Giles he thinks he should ignore it.
But Giles has recently been hospitalised, and Simon being the decent sort of fellow that he is, believes that Giles needs his help.
After collecting a briefcase from Giles' home in the dead of night, Simon realises suddenly what he is getting in to. He takes he decision to hide the briefcase, believing he is doing the right thing and not realising the consequences it could cause for him and his family.
When Lily discovers the briefcase her immediate instinct is to make it disappear and so she buries it in the garden, also unaware of the consequences her actions could cause for her and her family.
As Simon is arrested for suspected espionage and breaching the official secrets act, Lily begins to realise the horror of the situation they have found themselves in. But she still doesn't know the whole truth about her husband, and when it does comes it will be devastating.
Exposure is a beautifully written novel that really showcases this authors talents. I look forward to the her next.
